SCHOTT ROBAX® is a glass-ceramic material with mechanical characteristics including density of approximately 2.6 g/cm³ at 25°C/77°F and impact and flexural strength of approximately 35 MPa. The material exhibits ideal elastic behavior with brittle characteristics, meaning surface defects significantly reduce practical strength values to approximately 20-200 N/mm² depending on surface state and test conditions. Strength is not a material constant but depends on processing condition, usage condition, time-related conditions, surrounding conditions, load area, panel thickness, and installation method.
