Airbag Feedthroughs and Headers

SCHOTT's glass and metal feedthroughs for airbags and seatbelts are engineered with a combination of quality materials and exacting tests to achieve top levels of reliability. These feedthroughs are designed for airbag ignitors, seatbelt pretensioners, and circuit breakers. The components are incredibly robust and can withstand pressures of up to 4,000 bar. Fused-in pins inside the housings can have torques of up to 400 Newtons. Material options include tough steel construction with optional nickel and gold plating meeting the latest automotive industry standards. All feedthroughs and housings undergo intensive technical trials including tests for hermeticity, electrical insulation, lead fatigue, visual and dimensional examination, solderability, and thermal shock.
