The
IPS d.SIGN®
fluor-apatite glass-ceramic was modeled after the example of nature, with the most important properties of the natural tooth serving as the model. The inorganic component of the natural tooth consists mainly of apatite crystals, into which hydroxyl and partially carbonate groups are incorporated.
Due to the novel surface structure,
IPS d.SIGN®
has very good polishability and causes only minor abrasion on the antagonist. The glass-ceramic materials are excellently stable and are fired at temperatures below 900 °C.
