The guide covers: STAGE 1: DISINFECTION - Contaminated instruments must undergo decontamination and washing before being sterilized. Prior disinfection to material washing must be done with appropriate chemical agent. Surface disinfection in the office should be done with an intermediate-level disinfectant that destroys vegetative bacteria, mycobacteria, most viruses and fungi.
