The Bernard root elevator has been specifically developed for the removal of fractured roots or root remnants - combining the properties of a root tip elevator and a periotome. The inner side is concave, and the side edges are sharp. Ligaments can be separated and the root fragment loosened through rotating movements and gentle pressure. The working end has a size of 4.0 mm.
