Paralleling technique is the standard in intraoral X-ray diagnostics today. It requires holders that precisely align the sensor at a right angle to the central beam and thus parallel to the tooth axis. An ideal sensor holder is also one that does not increase the dimensions of the sensors and thus facilitates positioning in the patient's mouth. The XIOS sensor holders meet these requirements. The sensor holder tabs are small and narrow and have no impact on the dimensions of the sensors.
