Light Guide Rods

SCHOTT Light Guide Rods are precision optical fibers used in modern dentistry, endoscopy, and sensor technology. They provide excellent light transmission for dental applications such as curing photo-polymerizable filling materials and fluorescent-based cancer and caries detection. The rods serve as magnifying applicators in phototherapeutic systems powered by diode lasers. They are also used in liquid level sensors, light homogenization for medical imaging systems and industrial inspection, rigid endoscopes with exit illumination angles up to 120°, and fluorescence-based diagnostic applications. The SCHOTT PURAVIS® family offers improved near-UV transmission for fluorescent imaging in tissue analysis.
