SCHOTT's feedthroughs support the reliable, long-term functionality of airbag ignitors, seatbelt pretensioners and safety shutdown systems. Feedthroughs are used to protect the explosive charge and enable the flow of crucial electrical signals that activate the retraction mechanism in the event of a vehicle accident. Headers and feedthroughs protect the sensitive pyrotechnic ignitor charge so that it can do its job reliably in the event of an emergency. The circuit breaker is used to secure electrical separation in the event of a crash to protect passengers and first responders from injuries caused by electrical current.
