Properties Collagen is a natural fibrous protein present in all connective tissues. The freeze-dried collagen in cylinder form enables hemostasis through its properties of adherence, fluid absorption, and gelation. The collagen cylinder adapts to the bleeding surface and adheres firmly after mechanical pressure, resulting in the formation and adherence of a wound closure (coagulation). The collagen cylinders are biodegradable.
