SCHOTT's feedthroughs support the reliable, long-term functionality of airbag ignitors, seatbelt pretensioners and safety shutdown systems. Feedthroughs are used to protect the explosive charge and enable the flow of crucial electrical signals that activate the retraction mechanism in the event of a vehicle accident. Headers and feedthroughs protect the sensitive pyrotechnic ignitor charge so that it can do its job reliably in the event of an emergency.
