A xanthan gum and chlorhexidine-based gel for subgingival application in the treatment of peri-implant diseases. Contains chlorhexidine gluconate (0.5%), chlorhexidine dihydrochloride (1%), and xanthan gel (0.5%). The gel provides prolonged release of chlorhexidine for approximately 30 days, with chlorhexidine gluconate reaching concentrations >100μg/ml for 6-9 days and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride providing sustained antimicrobial action for subsequent weeks.
