HF (Hydrofluoric Acid) Scavenging Glass Frit

During battery production, even small amounts of residual moisture can lead to extremely corrosive hydrofluoric acid forming in battery cells because of violent reactions between fluorine and water. SCHOTT HF Scavenging Glass cuts out the reaction, protecting a variety of components and preventing short-circuiting. HF scavenging glass is a reliable additive for passivating HF in lithium-ion batteries and can be added directly to the anode or cathode. For batteries with high-energy density, a ceramic-coated separator is used to increase safety. The material also provides reliable protection against HF-induced corrosion and degradation in supercapacitors and electric double-layer capacitors (EDLC).
